Uncertain Times…

We live in a period of uncertainty. It does not matter what corner of our world you may travel to, you will find a cloud of uneasiness in the air. You don’t have to travel far, because people live in this uncertainty every day.

Our nation is filled with political uncertainty. The election cycle that just concluded, showed that our nation is more divided than it may have ever been before. There are so many different factions, and groups in our country that it is difficult to keep them straight. People are warring and struggling with each other, emotions and tempers are high, and it seems like everyone has something inflammatory to say.

There are those who have lost everything, their finances have finally got the best of them and they have given up. The struggle had become to real and they have thrown in the towel. There are those who have given up on their marriage, maybe it was a job or career. There are even those who are so disenfranchised with life that they have even considered ending it all!

I know that there have been times that I have been so close to goals that I had planned and anticipated, some for years, only to have them snatched away. To have planned, worked hard, and dreamed, only to see them drift away in just a moment.

In these crazy times of uncertainty, there is something I have held on to. You see, cultures change, people are finicky and can change in a moment before your eyes! But God never changes! The scripture tells us that he is the Lord, and that he changes not. An that because of this we are not consumed! (Malachi 3:6)

It doesn’t mean that we would never face adversity. He never said that we wouldn’t struggle with life. There are times we will have to deal with things, but regardless of what we are dealing with, there is the unchanging hand of God on our lives that is there to help us, not matter the situation! The steps of a good man or woman are ordered of the Lord, God is ultimately in control! He can change things that we never thought possible. The old cliche is that God can change the perceived impossible! With God nothing is impossible!

God is still there! He will help!

” Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.” Micah 7:8
